About Northlight Editions

Northlight Editions is a small photography studio led by Hana Vrieze. It was set up in 2016 to make and publish limited-edition prints of the landscape, coast, and interior work produced over the years.

The studio publishes two to four new series each year. Long-term projects — the canal path, the pine woods, the cedar shelf — are extended slowly and shown in small formats.

How the prints are made

Every print is pulled by hand in the studio on matte cotton (310 gsm). Editions are limited to eight to twelve numbered prints per size, with two artist proofs held back. Each print is signed in pencil on the reverse.

Studio

The studio is a two-room space in Aarhus, Denmark, close to the water. Visits are by appointment; please write in advance so a working day can be set aside.

Portfolio and shows

Portfolio boxes group up to six related series in a linen folder and are made to order. Once or twice a year the studio takes part in a small show; upcoming dates are announced in reply to email enquiries.
