Into the Pine Woods
A short walking series in a stand of coastal pines north of the studio. Vertical trunks, filtered light, and the same three paths returning.
The pine stand is not large — perhaps six hectares — but the paths through it repeat in a way that makes the walk feel longer than it is.
I photographed the same three paths on nine visits between late autumn and early spring, always in the hour before the light left the trunks.
The prints are all vertical (24 × 36 cm) and are usually hung in a column of three.
Edition of ten. A folded map of the paths is included with each set.
