Night Rooms and India Ink
Long-exposure night interiors made with a single lamp and a bowl of ink, photographed across a working autumn.
The lamp is a small brass reading lamp with a paper shade. In the frame it appears warmer than it is in the room.
Each frame was made with the same set-up: tripod behind the chair, thirty-second exposure, one lamp, one bowl of ink on the desk. Nothing else moved.
The series works as a diptych with the shelf studies. In print form the two are usually shown together on the same wall.
Editions of eight, matte cotton, 30 × 40 cm. A short technical note is included.
