The Canal Path Series
A slow, forty-minute walk along the canal behind the studio, photographed in every season. Water, herons, and the same three bridges.
The canal path is narrow and mostly level. It is not dramatic, which is exactly why it makes a useful subject: the same forty minutes, photographed under different weather, for four years.
I try to keep the compositions restrained. Nothing new is added to the walk — only the light and the water level shift from visit to visit.
The current selection is a suite of twenty small prints (18 × 24 cm) grouped by season. A boxed set is available on request.
A larger 60 × 90 cm print exists of the second bridge in flood; three of the edition of eight remain.
